Guan Wei: Okay, my name is Guan Wei.
I came to Australia the first time in 1989.
The first time I came to Australia was in Hobart, Tasmania.
Since I came to Australia I did a lot of exhibitions and also I became a professional artist.
Each year I must do more than ten exhibitions, including solo shows and group shows, some in Australia and some overseas, like China,
America, Europe and in many different places.
The first time I came to Australia I still used Chinese techniques and also elements, you know, like acupuncture, Chinese characters
and Chinese figures, colours.
That time I was quite concerned about the Eastern and the Western, you know, the two cultures, how they can mix.
Also, how they are different.
I did a lot of memento things in my works.
And I think around 2000 I started to become concerned about Australian political things, you know, like refugees and aborigines in my pictures.
This year I will be going back to China doing another big project.
Maybe I will stay there a little bit longer and there are also the big solo exhibitions that are part of the Beijing Olympic Games or something.
I'm quite interested; if I go back to China I will bring a lot of Australian culture there.
Maybe I should start another new circle.
