Transition to school programs help create partnerships between families, schools and the community. Consider a range of useful skills to help your child prepare for the big ‘first day’.

Use these ten tips for parents of children starting school, or download a Parent Kit (.pdf 134 kB).

The School Canteen Association has ideas on a well planned lunchbox and nutritional choices for your child’s eating times.

Your new school might be involved in Best Start Kindergarten Assessment early in the year. This will involve students undertaking literacy (.pdf 469 kB) and numeracy (.pdf 407 kB) tasks.
